Lumineers™ – Porcelain Veneers
Getting veneers is a big commitment. Not only do they require a part of the teeth to be filed down to make room for the veneer to fit and provide a surface for the veneers to be securely affixed, but they can be difficult and painful to remove, should one change his or her mind about having them.
At Hazzouri Dental, we use Lumineers™, the painless porcelain veneers, that give you a more comfortable dental experience. These types of veneers provide the same treatment of chips, cracks, and misalignment of teeth as traditional veneers and give you a beautiful smile.
The best part is that Lumineers™ are as thin as contact lenses, so no painful removal of existing tooth material is required. Lumineers™ work so well that they are even the choice for ABC’s hit television program Extreme Makeover.
Modern Processes and Beautiful Finishes
Ordinary porcelain veneers are much thicker than Lumineers™ and dentists have to grind some enamel off the existing tooth to make room for them. Lumineers™ are made from a patented porcelain compound that is so thin that they slip right over the teeth without painful grinding. Besides not requiring the painful grinding of tooth enamel, Lumineers are very durable. In fact, Lumineers™ are strong enough to last up to 20 years, despite their thinness.
Like traditional veneers, two dental office visits are required to have the Lumineers made and placed. On your initial visit, we simply take an impression of existing teeth. We make a mold from this and use it to design the veneers so that they provide an even, flawless smile. Once the veneers are ready, we will have you return for another appointment and we simply slip them over the teeth, using a special dental adhesive to hold them in place for years of worry-free smiles.
If you’re in a bind and need a flawless smile sometime between your appointments, we provide temporary dental veneer masks that act as a form of makeup for your teeth. These temporary veneer masks are perfect for weddings or for modeling assignments. These are full sets of veneers that are bonded to the front teeth with a temporary adhesive.
